Much like its neighbor, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge caters right to families with children. Going to a show at Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede is a great introduction into the stylized culture that the town strives to imitate. Another Dolly Parton attraction, Dollywood, is the biggest attraction in the area with its combination of amusement park thrills and traditional Southern entertainment. Of course, the town's location next to Great Smoky Mountains National Park cannot be ignored: it's a great place to call home base as you explore the park's expansive wilderness.
