Alabama Grill-an unsatisfactory experience

Posted by Betty T. on 1/2/2007

We had been to Alabama Grill two times before and had very good food and enjoyed the experience but this time it was terrible. We went there on New Year's Eve looking forward to a good meal before we went to a show. We both ordered Prime Rib. It was not fresh, rubbery and tasted terrible as if it had been frozen for a long time. We informed the waitress who was very nice and helpful, but she said the manager had given us a 15% discount. We ended up paying $43 for a baked potato and salad. We should have asked to speak to the manager but didn't want to cause a scene. It was just very disappointing and we will be afraid to go back there next time we are in Pigeon Forge. The music and atmosphere are very good and the service is good and maybe we just went on a bad night since the season there was almost over. Just be careful what you order and demand your money back if it is not good.Betty T

This particular restaurant is in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. This is like stepping into a museum. There are memorabilia everywhere. Some are pictures, in several cases there are hats of different country singers. There are also pictures on the wall of all the country singers who visited this restaurant. The country music band Alabama are owners of this chain. That is right there are more of these restaurants around just not here in Maryland but it is a great place to visit while on vacation. They have small menu, mostly different types of steaks fixed your way. The waiters and waitress are nice and very good at their jobs. There is also a gift shop to visit. I encourage you to visit this shop. If you are a country music fan this is the place to eat. There is good food and good service. The parking lot has plenty of parking and it is very easy to see it from the road. I know when I go down again this is where I will be having dinner. Southern style food you cant resist. I had a steak that was done to perfection and my daughter had a hamburger that she could not finish, it was so big. Enjoy your vacation and a good meal.
